Billy Connolly once said, “There are two seasons in Scotland: June and Winter.”
Well I hope things aren’t that bad north of the border but June usually brings some sunshine as the Festival season kicks in.
It was great to spend the May bank holiday at the Staffs Fest (Stafford Music Festival). This festival is now in its third year and goes from strength to strength. It has a great atmosphere and now covers a wider range of music, as well as Blues we have Rock, Soul and Reggae. I really enjoyed watching the other bands and catching up with the guys from Cold Flame, Used Blues and Pete Latham once again. It was a real treat as well to catch up with Reggae legend, Basil Gabbidon, founder member of Steel Pulse (see picture below). Big shout out once again to Lorraine Conkey and her crew for tirelessly working on making the festival such a success.
Next up it’s another festival, Saturday 17th June this time in the Oxfordshire countryside at Shutford. This beautiful setting is ideal for a truly English summer festival, one I’m really looking forward too! On stage at 5:15pm.
As always for gigs, projects, CD’s and chat please keep in touch via the website contact page or social media, it’s good to talk!
Fingers crossed for sunshine this June and if you have the election/brexit blues, go and cheer yourself up by getting out to see some real live blues oh yeah!
See you further on up the road.
