February is here and although it is the shortest month let’s hope we get to see Springtime soon as I hate this time of year. February is known as the month of love with Valentine’s Day and all that so “…if music be the food of love then play on…” so said Shakespeare in Twelfth Night, good advice I would say and a line that gave us Fleetwood Mac’s Then Play On album from the old days when Fleetwood Mac were a proper band….well you know what I mean.
Anyhow it was great to play my first ever gig in the city of Gloucester at Cafe Rene and thanks to all my friends that came down to make the evening special….a great night at a great venue.
Next up on Wednesday 1st March will be my first ever visit to the Midnight Special blues club in Surrey as I head further south in my quest to get my music out there. With great hosts in Nick and Dave it’s sure to be a great night so why not come on down and have some fun.
I’m pleased to say that I am making more of an effort to listen to vinyl these days and it is so much more rewarding than streaming or even CDs, the whole experience….oh yes….. just like the good old days. Speaking of vinyl I am still plugging my 45 rpm “Run With the Devil / Irwell Delta Blues single so why not give it a spin?
So hopefully the Manflu is on its way out as we head toward Spring and don’t forget February 14th….don’t let it be your St Valentines Day Massacre!
See you further on up the road
